Fishing

Fish some of the best water in New England

The fishing done at Northwind Outfitters consists of wade fishing on the many rivers in the area, or plying the waters of a stream. We can hike to a remote pond or canoe our way back in time by gently presenting your fly to rising trout on an evening hatch. Also for those who enjoy the bigger waters, we can easily make trips to the Androscoggin or Magalloway Rivers. Lakes are not to be forgotten for the pleasure of landing that large trout, bass, or salmon. We primarily fish from the Conway area to the Umbagog Lake area. You’ll be fishing from a Lund SSV, the same boat that many outfitters in Northern Canada rely on.

Our Fly Fishing Schools are a great way for you learn some skills at a leisurely pace and then enjoy the thrill of catching a fish on a fly.  At our Fly Fishing schools our students arrive on Friday afternoon, get settled in and go over equipment and flies. We have various levels of instruction available depending on your level of skills. You will learn to cast on flat water and the presentation of the fly on rivers as well. Accommodations are cabin tents with wood platforms and wood stoves with electricity. Meals are served in our dining area. Schools have an all-inclusive cost of $525/person.

Dates can be made available for your group with a four person minimum. Private lessons also available.
